Last comment, the Term "bricking" a module is overused. If you can't read the module with INPA or INSTA the module already has a problem or it will have a problem when you attempt the flash. My advise, use the right Cables and test read various modules before you attempt to flash. We've all read way too many stories where a guy tried to flash something with the wrong configuration. It's cheep insurance and I would not use any other brand. The versions with the modified firmware like BimmerGeeks is far superior and can flash a many more processors types. We all know that the standard Dcan is subject to a software bug and is unsuitable for some processors. Just remember that there are several types of Dcan cables and some are better than others. I flashed over 100 dmes w a dcan no problem so far Is it ok to update dme software using dcan cable? I know it would be safer to use icom, which i obviously don't have.īut how high risk is it actually to brick dme with dcan cable?
